Costières de Nîmes - white - 2008

Located at the top of the Costières de Nîmes region, the vineyard is south facing and benefits from constant sunshine. The Costières soil is made of Rhône rocky alluviums, better known as brownstone, and similar to the Cote du Rhône terraces. It mainly contains round flat stones of varying sizes (pebbles), with a constant mineralogical constitution.

50 % Grenache Blanc/ 50 % Roussanne

The main characteristic of this vintage is that it is grown on Viognier lees for three months and benefits from a weekly batonnage (a stirring). Its smoked nose mixes floral and fruity aromas (pear). In the mouth, it combines the rich taste of Roussanne with the freshness of Grenache.

The mix of Roussanne and Grenache is distinguished by a strong personality. Its rich taste is predominant with typical aromas of hazelnut and peach. This soft wine would be perfect with a salmon quiche, or some foie gras, as well as with some fish and seafood.

This wine should be served chilled (10-12°C) to preserve its sharpness and elegance.

This wine should be drunk during the first two years following harvest as it contains few sulphites.
